Formula 1 (F1), the iconic motor racing series, has unveiled Betway as the sport’s first official betting operator as part of a multi-year deal.

The Super Group-owned sports betting brand will take the designation from the start of the upcoming 2026 season.

The deal represents the first of its kind in the F1 betting market and will build on sports data and analytics firm ALT Sports Data’s role as the official betting data supplier of the series.

ALT provides real-time predictive analytics from F1’s data banks, in addition to creating proprietary data and priced odds solutions.

Betway will enable eligible fans to place in-play bets on driver and team strategy – from safety car occurrences, pit windows, and on-track battles.

Jonny Haworth, Formula 1’s director of commercial partnerships, said: “Sports betting is now a natural extension of how many modern fans engage with live events. As a series with vast and complex data sets, our innovative partnership with Betway allows our adult fans to take a step closer to the strategy and action.

“While betting and sport have long gone hand in hand, this new product offering based on real-time and regulated data takes Formula 1 into a new cutting-edge dimension that offers even more engagement and excitement for fans.”

Neal Menashe, Super Group CEO, added: “We are thrilled to sign our Betway sportsbook brand to the first deal of its kind in Formula 1. This partnership reinforces our commitment to sport at the highest level and will ensure our customers have access to some of the most innovative markets during race weekends.”

Earlier this week, F1 extended and expanded its commercial tie-up with customer relationship management provider Salesforce through 2030.

In late January, the series announced a major new multi-year partnership with Standard Chartered, the UK-based financial services firm, making it F1’s official wealth management partner and corporate and investment banking partner.

The 2026 F1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on Sunday (March 8) and will run through 24 rounds until the final race in Abu Dhabi in early December.

Betway's entry into motor racing adds another sport to its portfolio. The bookmaker already has a presence across soccer, rugby, tennis, cricket, basketball, and ice hockey, among others.
