Video game company EA Sports and North America’s Major League Soccer (MLS) have announced that players of the EA Sports FC mobile soccer game will be able to watch four matches of the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season.

The viewing option will be available through the in-game FCM TV portal, via a live simulcast of MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

The announcement forms part of the ongoing partnership between EA Sports FC, the MLS, and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and marks the first time EA Sports has broadcast live sports matches globally.

The live-stream will debut on May 10 as reigning MLS champions LA Galaxy take on the New York Red Bulls, followed by May 17’s Atlanta United vs Philadelphia Union fixture.

The final two MLS Season Pass matches to be streamed within EA Sports FC Mobile, meanwhile, will be held in September.

In order to access the broadcasts, users must reach account level 4 on the game to unlock access, and the broadcast is limited to countries where the MLS Season Pass is available. Players will get a free one-month trial of the MLS Season Pass.

Additionally, as part of the deal, EA Sports FC Mobile players will be able to access the Football Centre, a hub for content based on global soccer events, which also allows users to play each real-life match in-game.

Players who watch the live broadcasts will also be given in-game currency.

Lawrence Koh, vice president of EA Sports FC Mobile, has said: “By being able to watch select live MLS Season Pass matches within EA Sports FC Mobile, we’re continuing a commitment to our players to bring them closer to the game they love, by investing in innovation and growing experiences offered through our platform.

Camilo Durana, executive vice president at MLS, added: “By bringing select live MLS Season Pass matches to EA Sports FC Mobile, we’re reaching new and digitally native audiences around the world and continuing to broaden the way we’re building relationships with fans.”

In 2022, MLS agreed a 10-year global media rights deal with tech giant Apple to stream every match of the league.

Since 2023, all live MLS matches have been shown globally on the Apple TV streaming service, which will continue until 2032 in an agreement worth around $2.5 billion, or $250 million per year.

The 2025 MLS season got underway in late February, and runs through October 18.
