The German Football Association (DFB) has today (May 4) begun the tender process for allocating global betting data and audiovisual betting streaming rights to the men’s DFP-Pokal knockout cup competition during the 2022-23 to 2025-26 cycle.

The tender covers all worldwide markets – except for the audiovisual betting streaming package, which misses out the US and the three European German-speaking markets (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).

Firms interested in receiving the tender documents should submit a written request to kay.dammholz@dfb.de by May 10, with an official deadline for offers to be submitted of 10 am CET on May 12.

The tender essentially covers the rights to sell data and official livestreams to bookmakers around the globe and encompasses all 63 matches per season from the DFB-Pokal.

Stats Perform, the international sports and data technology provider, is the current DFB partner for Pokal betting streaming and data rights, with that deal running out at the end of the ongoing 2021-22 season.

This year’s competition is almost at an end, with the final between SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig set to take place on May 21.

The DFB is now marketing all media-related rights to the competition itself, after splitting with Infront, the international sports marketing agency, in 2020 – bringing to an end a 40-year relationship between the organizations.

The tender process is being overseen and run by Kay Dammholz, the governing body’s media rights department head, and by Lasse Eckartsberg, the DFB’s head of international media rights (appointed in September last year).

In terms of international broadcast rights for the DFB-Pokal, tender processes for the same cycle have been completed, and deals struck, in various European markets including Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia.
