
Basketball's international governing body FIBA has agreed a four-year broadcast partnership with German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom for its 3×3 competitions.
Through its MagentaTV and MagentaSport platforms, Deutsche Telekom will have exclusive digital and linear rights in Germany to all major FIBA 3×3 events.
The partnership begins today (June 13), with the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Tour and FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series in Vienna the first events to be aired.
This will be followed by coverage of the year's flagship event, the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from June 23 to 29.
The agreement will cover the following FIBA 3×3 events: FIBA 3×3 World Cup (2025, 2026, 2027, 2029), Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (2028), FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup (2025 – 2029), FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup (2025 – 2029), FIBA 3×3 World Tour (2025 – 2029), FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series (2025 – 2029).
Deutsche Telekom already has a presence within 3×3 basketball, through its sponsorship of Baskets Bonn, who are set to compete in the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Tour season.

A renewal of its long-running broadcast partnership with Euroleague Basketball was agreed in January.
Outside of basketball, Deutsche Telekom also recently secured a wide-ranging package of soccer rights from global governing body FIFA, encompassing multiple World Cups across different categories.
Meanwhile, FIBA recently appointed Mediapro Asia, the regional arm of the international sports media rights agency, to sell the media rights to its 3×3 basketball competitions in the Asia Pacific region until 2028.
