Golf cart manufacturer Club Car has once again extended its partnership with European golf’s DP World Tour and the top-tier biennial Ryder Cup competition ahead of its 2025 edition.

These partnerships will run through 2027, with Club Car to serve as an official supplier of the DP World Tour, and as a worldwide supplier of the Ryder Cup, supporting logistics at the events through the provision of team cars, support vehicles and staging fleets.

Club Car has been a commercial sponsor of the Ryder Cup men's team competition (in which Europe take on the US) since 1991, covering 16 editions of the tournament in total, and has partnered with the DP World Tour (originally the European Tour) since 1999.

Club Car last extended with the DP World Tour in February 2024, and upgraded its partnership with the Ryder Cup to that of a worldwide supplier in 2023 ahead of the previous edition of the event.

Speaking on the renewed deal, European Tour Group executive commercial director Max Hamilton commented: “[Club Car’s] global distribution network and excellent local support service make them the ideal partner for a global Tour that visits new countries each week, and one of the biggest and most complex single events in sport in the Ryder Cup.”

In terms of DP World Tour commercial activity, last month saw energy solutions and wind turbine brand Vestas come on board as a new sponsor.

Elsewhere in the world of golf, US golf’s PGA of America governing body has agreed a deal with American Airlines, which will serve as the body’s official airline partner.

This deal, which will also run through 2027, will include the PGA Championship annual major event, as well as the Ryder Cup to be held in the US (in New York) later this year.

American Airlines will provide exclusive benefits to members of its AAdvantage credit card scheme, including an American Airlines-branded hospitality area.

The 2025 Ryder Cup will take place at Bethpage in New York from September 25 to 28, and the 2027 edition at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland, from September 13 to 19.

Earlier this month, Motorola Solutions, the US online safety and software giant, was unveiled as a partner of both those editions.

PGA of America jointly administers the Ryder Cup alongside the Ryder Cup Europe body, which is jointly comprised of the European Tour (60%), as well as the Professional Golf Associations (PGAs) of Great Britain and Ireland (20%), and the PGA of Europe (20%).

The next edition of the PGA Championship, meanwhile, will take place in 2026 from May 11 through 17 at the Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
