Claro Colombia, the subsidiary of the telecoms giant America Movil, has been announced as the official broadcaster of all Colombian national soccer teams after striking an agreement with the Colombian Football Federation (FCF).
The agreement covers all national soccer sides, including the men’s, women’s, youth, and futsal teams, with the company reaffirming its commitment to put “its technological infrastructure at the service of the country” and to provide all Colombians access to high-quality digital experiences to follow each match.

Rodrigo de Gusmao, president of Claro Colombia, said: “For more than three decades, we have worked to connect Colombians, and today we want to be alongside the emotion that unites the country the most.
“The national team is our flag to the world, and we want to be with every goal, celebration, and moment that makes Colombia vibrate.”
Caro Colombia replaces broadcaster Movistar, formerly owned by Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica, which confirmed last week it had withdrawn from its sponsorship deal with FCF following its acquisition by Latin American telecoms firm Millicom.
The sale, finalized last month, marks the broad withdrawal of the Telefonica brand from Colombia, with Millicom to merge the Movistar brand with its Tigo brand to strengthen its presence in the country.
Ramón Jesurun, president of FCF, said: “Claro is currently the telecommunications company with the widest coverage in the country, and we are honored to have them join our family of commercial partners as an official partner of the Colombian national teams, a group that includes some of Colombia's most prestigious brands.
“We are confident that this will be a long-term relationship that will generate significant benefits for Claro, the Federation, and, of course, all Colombians who support and feel for our national teams.”
The new deal comes as the men’s team prepares to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup being held across the US, Canada, and Mexico – the latter being America Movil’s home market.
Colombia’s men’s team finished third in the 10-team South American qualifying section for the 2026 World Cup, above teams such as traditional heavyweights Brazil, and thus qualified automatically for the event.
Colombia will kick off its World Cup campaign in Group K, which currently consists of Portugal and Uzbekistan, with the last team yet to qualify.
Broadcast rights for the tournament are held by satellite network DirecTV, which secured exclusive rights to all 104 matches in the country via a sweeping deal covering Latin America, with free-to-air broadcasters Caracol and RCN to also air some matches alongside Win Sports, the pay-TV broadcaster in Colombia, which acquired a package of 25 matches in November.
Along with the upcoming men’s World Cup, Claro Colombia’s sponsorship comes during a busy schedule for Colombia’s national teams, including their participation in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland and the CONMEBOL U-17 Championships for both men and women, as well as qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Claro joins FCF’s other high-profile sponsors, including Aguila, Adidas, BetPlay, Inter Rapidisimo, Avianca, Bancolombia, and Ara.
