Canadian media group Bell Media has agreed a new and exclusive domestic broadcast deal with FIBA, basketball’s international governing body, and the Canada Basketball federation.

Through the multi-year agreement, Bell’s sports networks TSN and RDS will provide coverage of all Canada Basketball games across their national television feeds and digital platforms.

Matches from major FIBA tournaments will also be available on TSN and RDS, including both the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup and the 2027 men’s edition.

Bell Media replaces Sportsnet, the Rogers Media-owned sports broadcaster, as the FIBA rightsholder in Canada, having held the exclusive broadcast rights for the 2021-2025 cycle.

The new agreement officially begins in November, when Canada faces the Bahamas in home-and-away matchups during the opening window of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers.

There will also be more qualifiers next year, as countries aim to secure a place in the flagship tournament in Doha, Qatar.

Additional interest will be on Canada when they participate in the 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup qualifying tournaments next March as they attempt to become one of the 16 teams that will feature in Berlin, Germany, for the main event in September next year.

The agreement expands the basketball offering on TSN as the network’s coverage includes NBA games featuring the Toronto Raptors, the NBA playoffs and finals, and the women’s and men’s NCAA March Madness tournament.

Frank Leenders, director general of FIBA Media and Marketing Services, said: “We are thrilled to have established a new exclusive broadcast partnership with Bell Media.

“It's a tremendous opportunity to showcase elite-level basketball even more actively to fans, and this will continue to help with increasing the popularity of the sport in Canada itself, while also fueling FIBA's key aim of growing the sport globally.

"Deepening and broadening the reach of basketball in Canada, fans will be able to access the highest level of FIBA competitions and regularly watch the biggest names in basketball on TSN.”

FIBA is continuing to build out its rights portfolio for the next four-year cycle and recently renewed its long-standing partnership in the Philippines with satellite broadcaster Cignal TV.

Last month, international sports broadcaster ESPN renewed its rights deal with FIBA in Australia and expanded its relationship with the governing body by becoming its exclusive broadcast partner in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
