The deal runs for four years, through the end of 2030, and entails BeIN Sports subscribers in the aforementioned markets receiving access to the full suite of WTT events, including WTT Grand Smash, WTT Champions, WTT Star Contender, and WTT Contender. The agreement includes an option to extend until 2031.
In addition, the annual ITTF World Table Tennis Championship Finals will be covered live.
Coverage will be available via BeIN Sports' regional linear channels – which will cover the highest-profile events – and via the BeIN Sports Connect mobile app – which will air everything on offer.
In addition, distribution partners for BeIN across the region include Singapore's Singtel and StarHub, Astro and Unifi TV in Malaysia, Cignal in the Philippines, and MNC and Vidio in Indonesia.
In terms of recent APAC activity for BeIN, late last week the heavyweight sports broadcaster unveiled a new deal in the region for exclusive rights to tennis' iconic Wimbledon Championships, through 2031.
BeIN takes over from pay-television's SPOTV, owned by Eclat, as the Wimbledon broadcaster in the majority of the 10 markets involved, through a deal struck with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) body.
In terms of rights to other sports in the APAC region, the Qatar-based broadcaster also covers a range of top-tier soccer – such as the UEFA Champions League – and motor racing's Formula 1.
Ali Tavallai, broadcast director at World Table Tennis, added: "BeIN Sports is committing to the long term, guaranteeing live "coverage of our flagship events across the region and getting fully behind WTT’s Singapore Smash.
It's a strong signal of confidence in where table tennis is heading in this region, and together we're going to put the full WTT calendar in front of fans like never before."
Late September saw both the ITTF and WTT agree a major new marketing deal with heavyweight sports agency Infront, which becomes the worldwide lead agency for WTT's commercial development, in a tie-up running through 2034.
