The BBC, the UK's public-service broadcaster, has announced a new deal to broadcast Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) matches across the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons.
Through the two-year agreement, the broadcaster will stream one live match every week of the season – plus one semi-final and the final – on its BBC iPlayer platform and the BBC Sport website and app.
Domestic pay-TV rights to the PWR are held by TNT Sports under a multi-year deal signed in 2023.
TNT Sports holds rights to the top-tier men’s and women’s domestic rugby union competitions in England, as well as top European club rugby competitions.
Genevieve Shore, PWR's executive chair, has said: “Today marks another important step forward for Premiership Women's Rugby. In partnership with the BBC, we intend to give our athletes the biggest platform possible.
“The Rugby World Cup later this year will be a breakthrough moment in our sport, but the story won't end there. The world's best players play their rugby every week in the PWR, and I am excited to say that now they'll also be shown every week on the BBC.”
