Domestic rights to the next four editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Twenty20 cricket competition have once again been sold to Walee Technologies, this time for a record sum.

This means that marketing firm Walee now holds both domestic and international rights to the eight-team PSL, of which the 2026 edition takes place between March 26 and May 3.

It also held the domestic rights across both the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now unveiled that Walee now holds domestic broadcast and live-streaming rights to the 2026-29 cycle of the PSL, having submitted "the biggest financial offer" ever made – it is paying PKR 26.11 billion ($93 million).

Salman Naseer, chief executive (CEO) at the PSL, has now commented: “This will be the biggest broadcast deal in the history of not only the HBL PSL but also Pakistan cricket. The steep rise in valuation of HBL PSL’s commercial assets reflect the remarkable growth and credibility of HBL PSL as a world-class league. We are delighted that all past records and valuations have been surpassed in this four-year term from 2026 to 2029."

Muhammad Ahsan Tahir, Walee Technology's CEO, added: "This is not just a broadcast deal, it is the foundation of a new digital sports ecosystem that puts fans, creators, publishers, and brands all in one place.

“Every fan will be able to watch, engage, and be rewarded. Every brand will find its audience. Every stakeholder will have a seat at the table."

In terms of buying international media distribution rights to the PSL, Walee unveiled these earlier this month, with the PCB claiming that these were also sold and bought for a record fee (specifically, for 146% more than for last season).

This – the PSL's 11th season, set to contain 44 games – is the first edition of the franchise league since its expansion from six teams to eight.

The league's seventh and eighth franchises will play in Hyderabad and Sialkot, respectively, after bidders representing those regions came out on top at an auction run by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in January.

The Hyderabad expansion franchise was selected by the FKS Group from the US, for a price of $6.25 million, in the first round of the auction.

The Sialkot team, meanwhile, has been bought up by the Australia-based real estate consortium OZ Group, led by Hamza Majeed, for $6.6 million.

Last season's PSL was won by the Lahore Qalanders, the team's third title.

At least one PSL team will be sold next year, with the PCB itself expected to run the Multan Sultans for the 2026 season before putting them back up for sale.
