UK pay-TV broadcaster TNT Sports – run by the Warner Bros. Discovery media heavyweight – will cover cricket's upcoming Asia Cup national teams tournament in that market.

Through a deal unveiled today, TNT will provide exclusive coverage of all 19 matches from the men's Twenty20 tournament, which is taking place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between September 9 – today – and September 28.

All games will be covered live by both TNT Sports' linear channels and via the discovery+ streaming platform and mobile app, as the event expands to eight teams for the first time.

TNT also held these rights for the previous edition of the Asia Cup, held in 2023 in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Those eight sides are as follows: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE.

TNT Sports has secured these rights through a sub-licensing deal with Sony Pictures Networks, which holds exclusive rights following the signing of a seven-year deal with the governing Asian Cricket Council regional body last November. That tie-up also covers the 2027 men's Asia Cup, as well as several editions of the equivalent women's tournament.

This gives TNT Sports – previously under the BT Sport moniker – another set of national team rights, to add to its tie-ups with New Zealand Cricket, Cricket West Indies, and Cricket Australia.

However, it holds no domestic rights to cricket in the UK, with those held by rival Sky. The latter broadcaster also covers major tournaments organized by the International Cricket Council.

The first match of the Asia Cup, taking place at the time of writing, sees Afghanistan face off against Hong Kong.
