In addition, selected events and fights will air nationwide on free-to-air channel RTL. Both sides are also collaborating to develop new TV and digital formats.

RTL has held Oktagon rights since 2024.

The promotion has staged several major events in Germany in recent years, most notably last month when Oktagon 94 at Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park soccer stadium drew an attendance of 57,000 fans.

The upcoming Oktagon 96 event will be held in Germany on Saturday (October 31) at Munich’s SAP Garden.

Ondřej Novotný, Oktagon co-founder, said: “We’re thrilled that after less than two years on this journey together, our partnership with RTL has proven so successful that the group decided to significantly extend the contract.

“It gives our great partners, led by RTL, as well as our fighters and fans the certainty that Oktagon will remain Europe’s clear number one in MMA, in every respect.”

Inga Leschek, chief content officer of RTL Deutschland, added: “With Oktagon, we are seeing live how fast MMA is moving forward in Germany. Almost 60,000 fans in Frankfurt, record ratings on free-to-air TV and more than a million views on RTL+ are clear proof of that.

“The quality of the fight cards keeps rising, new stars are emerging, and the fan base keeps growing. That is exactly why we are extending our partnership until 2031. Together, we will reach the next generation of fans and firmly establish MMA in the sporting mainstream.”
