French soccer's LFP governing body is preparing to launch a domestic rights tender for the 2027-32 cycle, after originally planning to keep the current broadcast arrangement through 2028-29.

According to multiple media reports, Olivier Bramly, the general manager of the LFP Media commercial subsidiary, has told its board of directors that he is ready to launch the process for the next five-season cycle, starting with the 2027-28 campaign.

It is understood that the process will go live in November and will contain a single package for all Ligue 1 games each campaign – as is now permitted under French competition law.

A rule change to that effect was made in early August, with Bramly having only taken charge of LFP Media four months ago.

Such a move could spell the end of the road for Ligue 1+, the LFP's own in-house live-streaming platform that was launched – mostly out of necessity – in mid-2025, and covered all games from the 18-team Ligue 1 last season.

Ligue 1+ exclusively held the rights to eight of the league’s nine weekly games last season, and aired the ninth game (a BeIN exclusive live fixture) on a delay.

The service launched in mid-July of 2025 at a price point of €14.99 ($17.66) per month for an annual subscription, or a non-committal monthly tier at $19.99 per month.

The reported move by the LFP comes despite initial Ligue 1+ subscriber numbers having been reasonably encouraging.

Ligue 1+ has also been carried by a number of the country’s biggest TV and telecom players, including Bouygues Telecom, Free, Orange, SFR, Molotov, and Prime Video, among others, as well as DAZN.

The establishment of the in-house platform followed the premature termination of a previous domestic rights agreement between the LFP and global subscription service DAZN.

In addition, it has been reported that the LFP is prepared to continue with Ligue 1+ as its main domestic broadcaster for the next season, if no other network meets the base price put forward by the league.

Ligue 1's domestic media rights have been a source of turmoil and significant concern for the LFP for the last seven years, during which time they have decreased in value significantly.

Over the last few weeks, the property has also been steadily building its international broadcast partner portfolio for 2025-26. The end of September saw a new rights tie-up with Tapmad unveiled in Pakistan and Bangladesh, while deals in both India and Indonesia were also announced recently.

The 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign got underway in mid-August, with five of 34 rounds having taken place so far. Currently, AS Monaco sit at the top of the table.
