Spanish soccer’s LaLiga has agreed new broadcast deals with international sports streaming service DAZN in Sub-Saharan Africa and soccer-focused sports content platform SportyNet in Brazil.

DAZN’s deal will run for three seasons through to the end of 2028-29, while SportyNet’s agreement is just for this campaign.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, DAZN users will have access to all 380 LaLiga matches each season, available live and on-demand across 48 markets in the region.

Beyond the live action, DAZN subscribers will also have access to highlights, archive footage, weekly programming and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

Matches will be available with both English and Spanish commentary.

LaLiga features several players from Sub-Saharan Africa, including Ivory Coast’s Yan Diomande, who recently became Real Madrid’s record signing in a deal potentially worth up to €140 million ($163.1 million).

Other players include Senegal’s Pape Gueye and Ivorian Nicolas Pepe at Villarreal and Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman at Atletico Madrid.

Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, said: "Sub-Saharan Africa is a region with enormous passion for football and a growing community of LaLiga fans.

“Through this agreement with DAZN, we are strengthening our long-standing relationship with one of our most important global partners and making it easier than ever for millions of fans across the region to follow every match of our competition.”

The agreement builds on a longstanding relationship between LaLiga and DAZN, with the streamer holding rights to the league in several international markets, including Spain, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France.

Meanwhile, SportyNet will broadcast LaLiga in Brazil under a sublicensing agreement with the Brazilian sports marketing agency LiveMode.

As part of that deal, the platform will broadcast 76 matches this season. The matches will be shown on pay TV and for free on YouTube, and will also be available on the broadcaster's official app, which will launch soon.

SportyNet will air two matches per round, including clashes between clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, Sevilla, Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, and Villarreal.

Julia Rossi, director of strategy and new business at SportyNet, said: “The arrival of LaLiga is very significant at this moment because it adds another global property to our portfolio and, at the same time, reinforces a characteristic that we consider fundamental to our model: making great games available for free to an ever-growing audience.”

There is significant interest in LaLiga in Brazil, with several national team stars featuring in the league, including Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Endrick, and Eder Militao at Real Madrid, and Raphinha at Barcelona.

This addition of LaLiga expands SportyNet's soccer portfolio, which already includes national and international competitions across different platforms.

Most recently, the service renewed its media rights deal for Germany’s Bundesliga for another three years and announced a deal to show Italy’s Serie A this season, complementing its existing rights for the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana knockout competitions.
