Kayo Sports, the sports streaming platform of prominent Australian pay-TV broadcaster Foxtel, has extended its rights deal with motor racing’s Formula 1 (F1) ahead of the championship’s 2026 season.
Under the new multi-year agreement, Kayo Sports retains near-exclusive rights to the series and will continue to provide coverage of every race, qualifying session, and practice session from the 2027 season onwards.

Coverage will also continue to be available to Foxtel subscribers via the F1TV app, which will continue to be integrated into Foxtel’s set-top boxes.
F1TV is F1’s over-the-top streaming service that will give subscribers access to technical analysis shows, live paddock interviews, F1 documentaries, and short-form features, as well as past event highlights and archives.
Commercial broadcaster Network 10 will remain Kayo Sports’ free-to-air (FTA) partner for the Australian Grand Prix as part of the country’s anti-siphoning laws.
Ian Holmes, chief media rights and broadcaster officer at F1, said: “The quality of the product and immersive experience they [Foxtel] provide for fans takes them closer to the action, continuing to keep spectators on the edge of their seats.

By GlobalData“With new regulations, new teams, new drivers, new race locations, and more, there’s never been a more exciting time to engage with the sport. As a forward-thinking, ambitious, and technology-focused business, we’re thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Foxtel in taking our spectacular product to more and more fans across Australia.”
The extension builds on F1’s partnership with Foxtel, now owned by sports streaming platform DAZN, which has held rights to the series for more than a decade, with the last three-year renewal struck ahead of the 2022 season.
Retaining its rights is critical for Foxtel and Kayo Sports as it looks to remain Australia’s ‘Home of Motorsports’ and fend off competition from Stan Sports, the streaming service of Australian commercial broadcaster Nine Network, which has been active in securing live motorsports rights in the last few years.
Foxtel Group chief executive Patrick Delany said: “Kayo Sports is Australia’s sports leader with the best live sport, and our extension with Formula 1 further cements our position as the premier destination for both local and international motorsport.
“We [F1 and Foxtel] are partners in growth, and for more than a decade we’ve proudly supported the sport’s momentum, bringing fans closer to the action every season. That shared ambition continues to deliver results, with engagement reaching new heights and the 2025 season becoming our most-watched season ever.”
Along with F1, Foxtel’s motorsports offering includes every race across Supercars, MotoGP, Nascar, the World Superbike Championship, the Australian Rally Championship, the Shannons SpeedSeries, and the GT World Challenge.
Stan Sports, meanwhile, currently holds rights to the IndyCar Series, Formula E, the World Endurance Championship, the World Rally Championship, MXGP, the Australian Superbike Championship, and Australian ProMX.
The new agreement comes days after F1 secured a rights extension with international pay-TV heavyweight BeIN Sport covering a range of Asian territories through the 2030 campaign.
The deal will see BeIN Asia Pacific retain rights to air F1 through its linear networks and the BeIN Sports Connect streaming app across Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor-Leste (East Timor).
Last week also saw F1 strike a three-year renewal of its broadcast deal with Disney-owned ESPN covering the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
The 2026 F1 season begins with the Australia GP in Melbourne from March 6 to 8 and will run through 24 rounds until the final race in Abu Dhabi in early December.
