The Formula 1 (F1) motor racing series has reunited with major Brazilian broadcaster Globo in an exclusive domestic rights deal through the 2028 season.

The new three-year agreement will commence from the 2026 campaign.

Globo will replace commercial broadcaster Bandeirantes, which has held F1 rights in Brazil since 2021.

The deal sees Globo return as F1’s exclusive broadcaster having previously held the rights for more than 40 years up to 2020.

Globo will provide both paid and free-to-air coverage across its linear TV Globo channel, Sportv pay-TV offering, and GloboPlay digital platform.

Up to 15 races will be available to watch live and on delay throughout the season, while subscribers of Sportv can watch every practice and qualifying session, F1 Sprint and grand prix of the Formula One World Championship live and on delay.

Globo will also have an on-site production team to provide pre- and post-race coverage, analysis, and interviews.

The São Paulo Grand Prix has featured on the F1 calendar for over 50 years and will continue to do so until at least 2030 under the current agreement with the organizers.

F1 claims that as of 2025, it is the most-followed global sport league in Brazil, with 71 million fans.

There is currently just one Brazilian driver competing in the 2025 F1 season, Gabriel Bartoleto of the Sauber team.

F1 is seeking to conclude rights deals in key global markets for the next cycle and is understood to be in talks with global technology giant Apple over an agreement in the US.

Apple has reportedly offered $150 million per year to secure the rights.

ESPN currently shows F1 action in the US via a deal struck in late 2022, which GlobalData Sport has valued at $85 million annually, and expires at the end of the upcoming 2025 season.
