Thai telecoms firm Jasmine International (JAS) has snapped up rights to English soccer’s top-tier Premier League in Vietnam for the next five and a half years, expanding its exclusive league coverage in the region.

From January 2026, JAS will air Premier League matches and highlights across Vietnam, with its coverage spanning the second half of the 2025-26 season, and the 2026-27 through 2030-31 campaigns.

JAS will broadcast action through several mediums, linear channels, direct-to-home satellite television, digital terrestrial television, cable TV, IPTV services, OTT services, and social media.

Local OTT distribution will come via an agreement struck with FPT Telecom, a subsidiary of Vietnamese telco FPT Corporation, and its FPT Play platform, which has more than 35 million subscribers.

The deal, struck with JAS and Monomax, the exclusive rightsholder of the Premier League in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, will see all matches available on the FPT Play platform with Vietnamese commentary, with some games broadcast live in 4K.

Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, chief executive of JAS, said: “Recognizing Vietnam’s strategic importance and potential, we reached an agreement with the Premier League to acquire the rights to broadcast Premier League football in Vietnam.

“We have selected FPT Telecom as our local distributor, with the partnership set to deliver a target of 1.5 million subscribers in the first year. This package includes nearly 200 matches from the 2025-26 season and another 1,900 matches over five seasons, from 2026-27 to 2030-31.”

JAS replaces K+, the Vietnamese pay-TV operator and subsidiary of the France-based international broadcaster Canal Plus Group, which held the rights in an initial deal struck in 2010 and renewed to run from the 2022-23 season through 2024-25.

The broadcaster has been airing Premier League matches for the current 2025-26 season, but recently informed customers it would stop broadcasting from January 1, 2026.

The new rights build on JAS’ Premier League coverage in the region, having secured a major $560 million deal to exclusively air the top-tier league and England’s FA Cup knockout competition in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia for a minimum of three seasons starting from the 2025-26 campaign.

The deal included a clause allowing JAS to retain the rights for another three years, which was triggered in November 2024, with the agreement now running through 2030-31.

The initial three-year rights deal would have cost JAS $233 million, with the payment now reaching $560 million for the six-year deal. JAS will use its existing cash flow and loans from financial institutions to fund the deal.

Meanwhile, FPT Play adds the Premier League to its portfolio of sports rights in the country, which has included this year’s inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, all tournaments organized by Europe’s UEFA and the Asian Football Confederation, as well as basketball’s NBA.
