Foxtel, the Australian pay-TV operator recently acquired by international sports streamer DAZN, and commercial broadcaster Seven Network have retained their domestic rights for the Supercars motor racing series in multi-year deals.

The agreement, brokered by international sports agency IMG, will see Foxtel increase its coverage of the series, airing every round of the Supercars Championship, as well as the Bathurst 12 Hour live across its TV platform and streaming platform Kayo Sports from next year.

Specifically, Foxtel said it will broadcast more than 350 hours of Supercar action, adding to its burgeoning motor sports portfolio that includes the iconic Formula 1, motor racing’s MotoGP, Nascar, and World Superbike Championships.

As the series’ free-to-air broadcast partner, Seven will simulcast a slate of key events, including the Bathurst 1000, the Gold Coast 500, and the Adelaide Grand Final on its linear channel and ad-supported free streaming platform 7plus.

Seven will also provide highlights of all events across each season.

While Foxtel and Seven have not disclosed financial terms or the length of the agreement, Supercars has labeled it as “record-breaking.”

However, sources told news outlet The Australian Financial Review that the agreements are worth around A$50 million ($32.7 million) per year, covering 2026 to 2029. According to those figures, Supercars is set to pocket A$200 million for the four-year deal, marking a significant uplift from its current deal with the broadcasters.

Foxtel and Seven’s current five-year rights agreement is worth around A$165 million ($106 million). Supercars later re-valued the deal at A$200 to include the advertising element of the “cash and ads” deal.

Before that, Supercars secured A$241 million from its six-year deals with Foxtel and commercial broadcaster Network Ten, running from 2014 to 2020.

Foxtel Group chief executive Patrick Delaney said: “Australians love live and local sport, and Supercars is certainly in the first tier of premium Australian fan experience sports.”

The deal comes shortly after Supercars extended its agreement with pay-TV broadcaster Sky New Zealand for a further four years and ahead of the sport’s revised season structure, which begins with the Bathurst 12 Hour, followed by the Sprint Cup, and Enduro Cup, leading into Bathurst 1000 and concluding with a Finals Series involving the top 10 drivers.
