Endeavor Streaming, the streaming platform and services provider and subsidiary of the international entertainment agency giant, and Frequency, the linear streaming platform, have partnered to offer a “one-stop-shop” for direct-to-consumer services and ‘virtual linear channels’.

The tie-up, described as a “first-of-its-kind” by the pair, is aimed at giving content creators, rightsholders, and brands across sports, lifestyle, media, and entertainment a way to build and operate so-called virtual linear channels on free ad-supported TV (FAST) streaming platforms like Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, and Pluto TV.

Central to the offer, which is available now, is support for the distribution and monetization of such channels.

The collaboration combines Endeavor’s site for powering and operating direct-to-consumer applications across streaming devices with Frequency’s FAST channel creation platform, Frequency Studio.

Endeavor Streaming began its life as the IPTV service provider NeuLion, which was founded in 2004.

It struck numerous partnerships with major sports properties, such as North American ice hockey’s NHL, US cable and satellite television network the Tennis Channel, and mixed martial arts' Ultimate Fighting Championship before being acquired by Endeavor in 2018 and ultimately absorbed into the company’s streaming operation.
