Bundesliga International, the global commercial rights division of the German men’s soccer league structure, has announced a two-season extension of its rights partnership with DAZN Canada.
The extension will see DAZN subscribers in the country gain access to every top-tier Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga match, as well as the Supercup curtain raiser and highlights through the 2027-28 season.

Deidra Dionna, DAZN Canada vice president, said: “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with the Bundesliga and continue bringing world-class German soccer to fans across Canada.
“With full access to every Bundesliga match and Franz Beckenbauer Supercup—as well as top-tier Bundesliga 2 action—we’re proud to deliver unmatched coverage and storytelling across all our platforms. And with Canadian star Alphonso Davies poised for a big return, there's never been a more exciting time for fans to tune in.”
The extension comes as the broadcaster looks to capitalize on the presence of Canadian soccer star Alphonso Davies in the Bundesliga, with his team, Bayern Munich, looking to retain their Bundesliga title.
Davies is also set to be a key player in the national team when Canada hosts the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the US and Mexico.

By GlobalDataThe extension builds on the pair’s current agreement running from the 2023-24 to 2025-26 season, which sees DAZN show at least six live Bundesliga matches each week, as well as a wide range of shoulder programming.
Those rights also include the second-tier 2. Bundesliga, the German Supercup curtain raiser, and the post-season relegation playoffs.
Peer Naubert, chief executive of Bundesliga International, said: “With the FIFA 2026 World Cup just around the corner, the appetite for soccer in Canada has never been greater.
“But to successfully capitalize on such momentum requires a strong partner, and in DAZN, we know we are in a great position to deliver the best of the Bundesliga.
Each matchday brings new twists and turns, and we are looking forward to continuing our work with DAZN to make sure that fans across the country never miss a moment of the action.”
The new rights deal is one of several announced by the German league in the last few weeks ahead of the 2025-26 season, which starts today (August 22).
MBC Group has secured rights in the MENA region, while the league unveiled a new broadcast mix for the UK and Ireland, including a blend of linear, pay-TV, OTT, and free-to-air distribution.
The league also boosted its coverage in Japan with DAZN snapping up exclusive rights for the next three seasons, while sports streaming platform Abemba has acquired FTA rights in the country for the 2025-26 campaign.
The Bundesliga also concluded other rights deals in the Asian market with state-owned media and telecoms heavyweight Viettel in Vietnam and free-to-air channel PPTV in Thailand.
Earlier in the week, the league announced a four-year extension with United Media, the Southeast Europe-based media company, across nine territories, while it also agreed an extension in Italy with pay-TV heavyweight Sky Italia earlier this month.
