DAZN, the international over-the-top subscription platform, has today announced a new global partnership with Snapchat that will see it bring year-round boxing content to the social media platform.
Content will variously include behind-the-scenes access and clips, fight highlights, original features and other content in the build-up to bouts.
The DAZN Fight Week show will go out a minimum of 18 times a year in the run-up to major fights, premiering in the Discover section of Snapchat on 31 August. It will include a variety of recurring segments, including news, compilations and ranking champions.
The weekly Highlights Show will feature action from the top matchups and a DAZN Fight Night show, launching on 4 September for the biggest fights, will feature live-updating highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive access to fighters and fight week recaps.
Joseph Markowski, executive vice president at DAZN, said: “This partnership is another example of DAZN constantly striving to reach fresh audiences in innovative ways, as part of a wider mission to engage new fans on the channels they frequent most while growing the sport of boxing globally.
“Snapchat is the perfect partner for DAZN to team up with in order to tap into a new generation of potential boxing fans, who we cannot wait to see instantly fall in love with the sport.”

By GlobalDataMeanwhile, DAZN has also enlisted Germany-based production company Plazamedia to produce a number of new show formats for the OTT platform in the DACH region.
The agreement builds on an existing partnership between the two parties, which stretches back to DAZN’s inception in 2016.
As part of the expanded deal, Plazamedia has created the ‘DAZN Space’, a 470 square-metre production facility in Ismaning near Munich that houses four different sets and allows a variety of different shows to be created.
Its facilities include a living room space for a weekly soccer entertainment show, a daily set that is used for a number of regular shows, a locker room set that is used for an analysis show, among other things, and a cube commentary box for the broadcast of live events.
There is also a dispatcher room that acts as the editorial control centre and a TV control room.
Jens Friedrichs, chairman of the management board of Plazamedia, said: “After many years of successful cooperation with DAZN, we are very pleased to further expand our partnership starting this season. The new ‘DAZN Space‘ impresses with its modern design, the high-resolution LED walls with corresponding lighting design and state-of-the-art broadcast technology – another milestone in our activities for and with DAZN.“
