DAZN, the sports subscription streaming platform, has secured of coverage rights for the Australian men’s top-tier National Basketball League (NBL).

The tie-up, announced today (November 14), will see DAZN make all NBL fixtures available on its platform across Europe and Canada for the duration of the agreement.

Veronica Diquattro, chief executive of global markets at DAZN, said: “We are incredibly excited to be entering this partnership with the NBL. We look forward to broadcasting the games on DAZN and bringing fans and subscribers in Europe top courtside action from one of the best basketball leagues in the world.”

Brad Joyner, the NBL’s chief commercial officer, said: “We have a strong European and Canadian following and this partnership will enhance our offering with that passionate fanbase. Aligning with DAZN displays the unprecedented interest in the NBL both domestically and internationally, and we look forward to continuing to grow our global reach.”

The domestic broadcasters of the 10-team league are pay television's Foxtel and ESPN and free-to-air Network Ten.

In August, production firm Jam TV replaced international sports and entertainment giant IMG as the production partner of the NBL for the next three years.
