US media giant Comcast, parent company of the Xfinity television platform and NBCU network, has launched a soccer-focused package for its customers as it prepares to air next year’s men's FIFA World Cup national teams tournament.
The World Soccer Ticket offering, priced at $85 per month, includes almost 60 broadcast, cable news, and sports channels, along with a premium subscription to Comcast’s Peacock streaming service – giving customers access to nearly every major club and international soccer competitions.
Specifically, the base plan will include access to ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, UniMas, ESPN, FS1, ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, Universo, and TUDN.
Comcast’s access to Fox’s channels comes via a broad carriage deal struck in 2020 that covers Fox’s 28 local TV stations serving 11 markets, as well as the Fox Business and sports cable channels FS1, FS2, BTN, and Fox Deportes.
Jon Gieselman, Comcast’s chief growth officer, has said: “Figuring out where to watch your favorite team or match is often a painful game of chance. Now, with World Soccer Ticket, there’s no better way to watch the beautiful game than with Xfinity.
“It’s easy, we did the work for our customers and pulled together the most coveted leagues and tournaments – from Premier League, La Liga, and Champions League to the World Cup – and put them in one place. We added some magic to the experience with innovations like Multiview, 4K, and Sports Zone, all easily accessible with one simple click or voice command.”

By GlobalDataThe offering comes as the US prepares to host the men’s FIFA World Cup – alongside Canada and Mexico – with World Soccer Ticket set to provide access to every match of the tournament in English via Fox, and in Spanish via NBCUniversal’s Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
As well as the World Cup, customers will gain access to live coverage of major soccer competitions, including England’s Premier League, the pan-European UEFA Champions League, Spain’s LaLiga, Mexico’s Liga MX, women’s soccer’s NWSL, and the Concacaf Champions Cup tournament.
The package will also include coverage of other major sports leagues, including American football’s NFL and basketball’s NBA.
Customers can access the new package via Comcast’s X1 set-top box and Xfinity Stream TV app on supported platforms, including Apple TV and iOS, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Xumo streaming devices.
This scheme from Comcast has been unveiled just days after US media giants Disney and Fox announced an accord that will see them bundle their upcoming direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming services together.
Both services will be bundled together for a monthly price of $39.99 (a $10 discount on the combined price of both services individually).
Both services will launch on August 21, with the bundle to go on sale on October 2.
