CMA Media, the media arm of French logistics conglomerate CMA CGM, has completed the acquisition of the country’s pay-TV sports channel RMC Sport for an as-yet-undisclosed fee.

RMC Sport, previously owned by beleaguered telecoms firm Altice, will be rebranded to CMA Sport, and will continue to broadcast its wide range of top-tier properties, primarily focused on combat sports.

RMC Sport holds right rights to promotions UFC, PFL, One Championship, Cage Warriors, KSW and Hexagone; boxing promotion Zuffa Boxing, International Judo Federation events, and, domestically, France Judo events also (including the popular annual Paris Grand Slam).

CMA had already acquired a number of RMC assets from Altrad back in 2024, including TV stations BFMTV, RMC Découverte, and RMC Story, as well as the radio network RMC Radio.

Altice’s fiscal performance has suffered dramatically in recent fiscal years, and as such is seemingly looking to shed excess divisions, of which RMC Sport may be considered one.

In the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, revenue across all areas slid by 8.7% year-on-year to barely over €2 billion ($2.250 billion).

By comparison, CMA CGM’s Q2 results saw a revenue increase of 19.2%, with turnover swelling to $15.7 billion, illustrating the growing presence of the firm across the

CMA CGM is already heavily invested in French sports beyond these new media holdings.

The logistics heavyweight is the main front-of-shirt partner for heavyweight soccer side Olympique de Marseille until at least 2028, and a title partner of a cycling UCI WorldTeam (Team Decathlon CMA CGM).

Most recently, it has been reported that CMA CGM will take over from Altrad as the next front-of-shirt sponsor for the French national rugby union teams in what would be another major domestic sponsorship spend, said to be worth roughly €10 million ($11.63 million) annually
