The Confederation of African Football (CAF) governing body has launched a tender process covering media rights for its top-tier club competitions.

The process was unveiled by Egypt-based CAF yesterday, and most prominently covers the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup tournaments, as well as the CAF Super Cup and Women's Champions League.

For all tournaments, the rights to the 2026-27 and 2027-28 editions have now been sent to market in sub-Saharan Africa, covering both English and local languages, and both free-to-air and pay-TV.

The rights in North Africa are not included in the tender, and neither are French-language pay-TV rights.

The deadline by which interested parties must submit their tender offers is November 11 at 5pm Egyptian time.

The invitation to tender (ITT) form can be requested by contacting mediasales@cafonline.com.

The main stages of the 2026-27 CAF Champions League begin on November 27, following the qualifying period last month. The defending champions, South Africa heavyweights Mamelodi Sundowns, have already been eliminated.

CAF has just unveiled Samson Adamu as its new secretary general, while the soccer body has also recently been engaged in selling media rights to its next men's national teams Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, next June and July.

Late October saw a pair of agencies – Media Experts Limited (MEL) and Media Business Solutions (MBS) – snap up a package of exclusive free-to-air rights for the 2027 AFCON.

It was also unveiled last week that CAF has reneged on its decision to switch the AFCON to a quadrennial schedule. The event will instead stick to a biennial schedule, as has been in place since 1968.
