LaLiga has been looking to increase its visibility in the UK, having already struck a three-year highlights deal with pay-TV heavyweight Sky in August, running through the 2027-28 campaign.
The Spanish league currently contains multiple high-profile England national team players, including Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Marcus Rashford.
Earlier this year, LaLiga announced the distribution of its media rights in the UK and Ireland, with OTT heavyweight Disney+ joining incumbent rightsholder Premier Sports as part of the competition’s broadcast mix for the upcoming cycle.
The three-year deal will see Disney showcase one game per gameweek (Saturday evenings) exclusively throughout the season, while Premier Sports will continue as the competition’s primary broadcaster in the market, showing the remainder of the domestic fixtures, over 340 per season, on its own linear and OTT platforms.

By GlobalDataDisney replaced UK commercial broadcaster ITV, which had shown a handful of games each year over the past three campaigns.
Keegan Pierce, La Liga's director of international relations, said: "We are pleased to add BBC Sport to our roster of La Liga clips partners in the United Kingdom.
"Partnering with such a trusted media brand helps us bring the artistry and spectacle of Spanish football to passionate audiences here in the birthplace of our sport."
DAZN, meanwhile, holds the global highlights rights to LaLiga under a two-year agreement covering the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons, signed in August.
The deal also adds to the BBC's growing soccer portfolio, having earlier this week retained its highlights rights package for the top-tier UEFA Champions League pan-European competition for the 2027-31 cycle.
Last month, the broadcaster secured rights to show Friday night matches from Germany’s top-tier Bundesliga through 2027 and agreed a five-year deal to air live matches from UEFA’s Women’s Champions League from the 2025-26 season.
Director of BBC Sport Alex Kay-Jelski said: "Following the announcement of our recent deal with the Bundesliga, we're thrilled to now bring La Liga clips to BBC Sport's digital platforms.
"These additions strengthen our already extensive global football offering and allow us to showcase the stories, rivalries and standout talent from across Europe.
"As we look ahead to World Cup 2026, this puts us in a fantastic position to bring fans closer to the players and moments that matter – all in one place."
