The Baller League, the digital-focused six-a-side soccer competition, has struck a new broadcast agreement in the US with Paramount-owned CBS ahead of its launch in the country.

Baller League US, the latest regional domestic competition from the overall Baller League brand, will launch in March, and the inaugural campaign will be covered by the soccer-focused CBS Sports Golazo Network broadcast offering.

This deal covers every game from all ten matchdays, as well as the post-season playoff finals.

Felix Stark, founder and chief executive of Baller League International, commented: “This agreement with CBS Sports is a major moment for Baller League as we continue to redefine what soccer can mean in America.

“We’re building something that lives where sport meets culture — uniting creators, players, and fans in new ways. We cannot wait to bring this next chapter of Baller League to life on CBS Sports.”

This is the first linear coverage deal in the US for the Baller League, which will also be streamed for free in the country on video platforms Kick, Twitch, and YouTube.

Baller League has already struck US-centric partnerships in anticipation of its newest league’s launch.

In November, the Baller League agreed a wide-ranging two-year partnership with sportswear giant Nike, which will serve as the official apparel and equipment provider across its US and UK competitions.

Later, in December, the competition also tied-up a significant partnership with prediction market firm Kalshi, which will serve as the front-of-shirt partner for the US expansion series.

This major new broadcast deal comes days after Baller League announced a pause and postponement to its operations in its original market, Germany.

According to a report by German online publication DWDL.de, the league shut down its operations in the country, but GlobalData Sport (Sportcal) understands that it has only been paused and will resume at a later date.

In a statement issued to DWDL.de, Baller League's international representatives said: “Although Germany will always remain an important part of Baller League's roots, the market currently does not offer the necessary size and structural conditions to support the company's long-term goals.”

It added that the company remains “highly liquid and solvent,” and is open to a return “when conditions better align with our long-term vision.”

Baller League UK launched last March with a host of soccer legends, social media stars, and cultural icons signing up to manage the 12 competing teams, including Deportrio (Alan Shearer, Micah Richards, Gary Lineker), 26ers (John Terry), and N5 FC (Jens Lehmann, Robert Pires, Freddie Ljungberg).
