Find the list of top ten most active brands in basketball sponsorship in 2022 so far (as of May 2022), compiled by Sportcal based on GlobalData’s sports sponsorship deals database.

1. Socios.com – 27 active deals

Socios.com is the most active sponsor brand in basketball in 2022 as of Q2 2022. The company has a total of 27 active global sponsorship agreements in basketball.

Socios.com’s biggest active deal in basketball is its agreement, worth an estimated $7m, with Madison Square Garden Sports, owner of the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association.

Socios.com is an international fan engagement platform, offering supporters the opportunity to buy digital fan tokens and interact with their favourite team. Tokens are purchased using $CHZ, a Socios-owned cryptocurrency. Socios.com partners with teams in soccer, basketball and American football.

2. Anheuser-Busch InBev – 25 active deals

With a total of 25 active basketball sponsorship deals globally, Anheuser-Busch InBev is positioned second.

The most valuable active sponsorship deal of Anheuser-Busch InBev in basketball is with Madison Square Garden Sports, owner of the NBA’s New York Knicks. This agreement is worth an estimated $51m.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company. It is the largest brewer of beers in the world. Brands under the Anheuser-Busch InBev umbrella include Budweiser, Corona, Busch and Stella Artois. These brands sponsor a variety of sports including the NFL and NASCAR.

3. PepsiCo – 21 active deals

PepsiCo is at the third place in terms of active global basketball sponsorship agreements. The company has a total of 21 active agreements during the review period.

PepsiCo’s major active deal in basketball is its agreement, worth an estimated $300m, with National Basketball Association.

PepsiCo is an American multinational food and drink manufacturer. Its food and drinks brands include Pepsi, Quaker Oats, Tropicana, Lays/Walkers, Lipton, 7UP, Doritos and Gatorade. The company has one of the most valuable sports sponsorship portfolios in the world, which includes deals with the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and the UEFA Champions League.

4. Verizon – 13 active deals

The fourth biggest active sponsor brand in basketball in 2022 is Verizon with 13 active sponsorship deals, as of May 2022

Verizon made its biggest active sponsorship agreement, worth $20m, with National Basketball Association.

Verizon, is one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, with a strong presence in America. Its primary sponsorship focus is on American football through a major sponsorship deal with the National Football League (NFL).

5. Nike – 13 active deals

Nike is the fifth biggest active sponsor brand in basketball in 2022 with a total of 13 active worldwide sponsorship agreements.

Valued at an estimated $1bn, the deal with the National Basketball Association’s is Nike’s biggest active sponsor agreement in basketball.

Nike is a leading multinational athletic footwear and apparel corporation based in the USA. Its sponsorship portfolio includes high-profile athlete endorsements and kit supplier partnerships with teams, leagues and competitions.

6. Coca-Cola – 13 active deals

Coca-Cola ranks next among the top ten active sponsor brand in Basketball in 2022. According to GlobalData’s sports sponsorship deals database, Coca-Cola has a total of 13 active sponsorship agreements in Basketball globally, as of Q1 2022.

Coca-Cola’s biggest active deal, worth an estimated $6m, is its sponsorship of New Orleans Pelicans.

Coca-Cola is a global beverage producer with a number of brands falling under the Coca-Cola umbrella, including Coca-Cola, Sprite and Powerade. Coca-Cola is a major sponsor of several global sporting events including the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup.

7. Kia – 12 active deals

Kia has the seventh highest volume of active global basketball sponsorship agreements with a total of 12 active deals.

Kia’s biggest active sponsorship deal in basketball is with the National Basketball Association. This deal is worth an estimated $24m.

Hyundai-Kia is Korea’s largest automotive group. Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group divisions include Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation. Kia Motors Corporation conducts its sponsorship business both as its own entity and in conjunction with sibling group Hyundai Motor Company. Kia is a major sponsor of basketball, cricket, soccer and tennis.

8. State Farm Insurance – 11 active deals

State Farm Insurance ranks eighth among the ten biggest active sponsor brands in basketball in 2022. The company has a total of 11 active sponsorship deals globally.

Worth an estimated $180m, the agreement with the Atlanta Hawks is State Farm Insurance’s biggest active deal in Basketball.

State Farm is an insurance and financial services group, and the largest home and automotive insurer in the USA. Its sponsorship focus is on basketball and college sports in the USA.

9. Toyota – 10 active deals

With a total of 10 active basketball sponsorship agreements in place globally, Toyota stands next during the review period.

The most valuable active deal of Toyota in basketball is with Houston Rockets. The agreement is worth an estimated $95m.

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese corporation and one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. Toyota pursues a diverse set of sports sponsorships as it seeks to reach as large an audience as possible to boost global sales.

10. Adidas – 10 active deals

Adidas occupies the tenth position with a total of 10 active sponsorship deals in basketball in 2022 globally, according to GlobalData.

The agreement, worth an estimated $200m, with Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden is Adidas’s biggest active sponsorship deal in basketball.

Adidas AG is a German multinational company that specialises in the design, manufacturing and sale of sports clothing, shoes, equipment and accessories. adidas has a large sponsorship portfolio that encompasses a number of sports.
