The UCI, cycling’s world governing body, has named Roubaix in France, a regular location on the sport’s calendar, as the host city for this year’s Track Cycling World Championships.
The annual flagship tournament will take place in the northern French city from 20 to 24 October and be held at the Vélodrome Couvert Régional Jean-Stablinski, which opened in 2012 and has a 250-metre track.

The venue is located in Roubaix’s Parc des Sports, next to the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux, which hosts the finish of the famous UCI Paris-Roubaix Classic held annually.
The 2021 edition was originally scheduled to take place from 13 to 17 October in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan, but was ultimately cancelled in June at the request of the organisers due to the health constraints and restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last year's competition was staged in Berlin, Germany.
The UCI Track Cycling World Championships will be organised in collaboration with the French Cycling Federation, and with the support of the city of Roubaix, Lille European Metropole, the department of Nord, and the region of Hauts-de-France.
