DAZN, the international over-the-top subscription platform, has secured rights in Japan to six US Golf Association (USGA) tournaments and two PGA of America events as it looks to further bolster its sports offering in the country.
Under a three-year agreement with USGA, DAZN will livestream six of the golf association’s major tournaments on the US Tour on its DAZN Japan platform, with plans to produce catchups and highlights shows.
The tournaments include the US Open, US Women’s Open, US Senior Open, US Senior Women’s Open, US Amateur, and US Women’s Amateur from 2022 to 2024.
DAZN’s coverage of the US Open and US Women’s Open will feature Japanese commentary.
As part of its three-year deal with the PGA of America, meanwhile, DAZN will provide livestreaming of the PGA Championship (May 19) and Senior PGA Championship (May 25-29) from 2022 to 2024, with Japanese commentary.

Last week, it added US-based mixed-martial arts promotion the Professional Fighters League to its growing portfolio of sports on its Japanese platform.
It also secured extensive rights in the country to all major competitions from the Asian Football Confederation, soccer’s governing body across the region, for eight years.
Under that deal, the platform will show 14 AFC competitions during both the 2021-24 and 2025-28 rights cycle.
