German sports car manufacturer Porsche has expanded its international golf portfolio after securing a naming rights partnership with the Singapore Classic, an event on the men’s DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour).

The tournament, which will be played at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club from March 21 to 24, will be renamed the Porsche Singapore Classic. It is the first event on the tour’s Asia Swing, which is one of five new ‘global swings’ that form the DP World Tour’s new format.

As part of its agreement, players will be able to win a Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid car if they can produce a hole-in-one on the 17th hole during the four-day tournament.

This year’s edition will be the second after the DP World Tour returned to Singapore last season following a nine-year break.

DP World Tour’s chief executive Keith Pelly said: “Porsche has been a cherished partner of the tour for several years and we’re delighted that it has chosen to extend this relationship by partnering with the new look Porsche Singapore Classic.

“This is a fantastic validation of the strength of the DP World Tour and the power of our global platform, which Porsche can utilize to help expand their business across Asia.”

The deal adds to Porsche’s involvement in golf, which includes the launch of the Porsche Golf Cup, an international series featuring amateur Porsche customers, and its Porsche Golf Circle community.

The manufacturer will also act as the official car partner of the European Masters in Crans Montana in 2024 and is currently in talks with organizers and the DP World Tour to continue its involvement at the European Open in Hamburg after ending its title sponsorship of the tournament last year.
