The U.S. Formula One Radio Network will be on the air for the first time at the upcoming Australian Grand Prix weekend.

Broadcasting direct from the track, the Network will provide U.S. motor sports fans with reports covering all on-track activity on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, a live two hour broadcast of the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday March 3, plus post race reports on Sunday evening and on Monday morning, March 4.

‘The U.S. Formula One Radio Network will provide the most immediate Grand Prix coverage available in the USA,’ said Andrew Craig, President of The Craig Company LLC, the rights holder for North American F1 radio rights.

‘Our broadcast team will be on the spot at every Grand Prix and will be able to bring to fans full play-by-play coverage plus live news and interviews direct from the pits as each race unfolds.’

The Network broadcast team is lead by Inga Stracke of Pole Position Reports GmbH. Stracke, a Formula 1 radio veteran, brings a proven track record of success to the project. She will take on the dual roles of Executive Producer and Pit Reporter.

‘I am very excited to be a part of the U.S. Formula One Radio Network,’ said Inga Stracke. ‘I have a passion for Formula One and for radio and I believe that we can provide U.S. F1 fans with a greatly enhanced level of live coverage from each race.

‘As well as overall production responsibility, my job in the pits is to make sure that I am among the very first to bring listeners the inside story of what is going on in the race. You can only do this if you are right at the heart of the action.’

Live play by play will be presented by Justin Hynes who brings an established reputation in F1 journalism to the U.S. Formula One Radio Network team. ‘I have been reporting on F1 for a number of years and I still get just as excited before the start of each race as I did when I first started in the sport,’ said Justin Hynes.

‘I want to make sure that U.S. fans hear the whole story of each race as it happens. Additionally, there are so many stories behind the scenes in Formula One and we plan to put together features and profiles that will take fans into a world that combines technology, glamour and raw ambition to create the most exciting race series in the world.’

Supporting each broadcast, Sibylle Kloser will act as paddock reporter and assistant. New to Formula One, Sibylle is an experienced radio journalist.

Syndication of the U.S. Formula One Radio Network is being managed by Creative Broadcast Consulting. The Chicago based company has long record of success in the syndication of sports and other radio properties.

Commenting on the Network, Chris Witting, President of Creative Broadcast Consulting, said ‘The response to the idea of broadcasting Formula One has been remarkably strong and particularly so when you consider that this is the first time ever that Formula One has been offered to the radio industry in the U.S. We think that, as the races start to air, we will be able to quickly take the Network to its full national potential.’

Race fans will be able to find out all the details about the U.S. Formula One Radio Network by visiting usf1radio.com that will go on line on February 25.

Visitors to the site will be able to meet the broadcast team as well as find out details of local stations carrying the Network. The site will provide links to every F1 team and racetrack to enable fans to quickly access the very latest news about the sport.

All races will air live. In addition, because of the unfavorable time zone for the U.S., the races in Australia, Malaysia and Japan will be offered on both a live and delayed basis. Listeners should check with their local station to find out if these races will be offered live, delayed or both.
