During the 2002 Winter Olympics, the Park City Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with its partners, will host the Park City Media Center (PCMC), open to all journalists covering the many aspects of the Games.

The PCMC will be located on the lower level of the Park City Main Street Mall, a location central to Park City’s Olympic celebrations and just one mile from both Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley Resort, two of Park City’s three Olympic venues. The PCMC will offer journalists, officially accredited by the Salt Lake Olympic Committee or not, access to a centrally located center with all components necessary for you, the media, to do your job.

In addition to full service work stations, the PCMC will offer a comprehensive reference guide listing all pertinent information necessary to file your stories, as well as a hospitality center for those times when you just need to get away from it all.

Slated to host one-third of all Olympic events, Park City is in the enviable role of hosting many of the thousands of journalists scheduled to cover the Games. And with this task, the Park City Visitors Bureau wants to insure those journalists covering the Games have what is necessary to convey the message of the Olympics, the magnitude of which has never before been seen in the Rocky Mountains.

Park City’s three venues (Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and the Utah Olympic Park) are hosting 26 of the 78 events making up the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Utah Olympic Park will be the busiest with 14 events, while Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort will each host six.

Located just 36 miles (58 kilometers) from the Salt Lake City International Airport and 32 miles (51 kilometers) from downtown Salt Lake and the Main Media Center, Park City is one of the most convenient destination resorts in the Rocky Mountains, if not the world.
