Check out the teaser of the tour!

2017 is particularly special as we are celebrating FISE’s 20th anniversary, its 20 years of history, of action sports and of sharing. The FISE World Series (FWS), presented by Honor, will host the following disciplines: BMX Freestyle Park, BMX Freestyle Flat, Skateboard, Mountain Bike (MTB), Roller Freestyle, and Wakeboard, all open to amateurs and professionals alike.

Semi-finals and finals of the contests will be live on the French SFR Sport channel and worldwide on IMG network and FISE TV.

Host cities for FWS 2017:  –  Montpellier, France, 24-28 May –  Budapest, Hungary, 16-19 August  –  Edmonton, Canada, 15-17 September  –  Chengdu, China, 3-5 November

FOCUS ON PARTNER FEDERATIONS

This year, FWS is once again bringing together many events sanctioned by International Federations. It is also establishing a pilot project for the development of these freestyle sports. The multidiscipline festival, initially regarded by riders as an opportunity to meet their equivalents from other sports, nowadays brings together their key elements for the development of their respective disciplines.

PRESS RELEASE Friday, May 12th 2017

UCI: Union Cycliste Internationale

UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup

Following an excellent first edition in 2016, FISE and the UCI have decided to extend their collaboration and organize, this year again, the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup, of which each FWS stage will be a stop. After the final round of the season in Chengdu, both men and women series’ leaders will be declared winners of the 2017 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup.

FIRS: International Federation of Roller Sports

FIRS Roller Freestyle World Cup

A new collaboration between FISE and FIRS has enabled the establishment of a Roller Freestyle World Cup (Skateboard is also part of this federation) which will be represented for the first time at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In Montpellier, the newly remodelled Slopestyle will host the competition, enabling the best riders to qualify for the FIRS World Championships Roller Games 2017 in Nankin. The best athletes of FWS 2016 will also be invited. And for women – as a general ranking wasn’t actioned in 2016 – Montpellier will be the place for qualification.

IFSC: International Federation of Sport Climbing

Climbing Boulder presented by Block’Out Montpellier

A new addition to FISE Montpellier, the Blocks climbing competition will host some of the finest climbers in the world because of its inclusion on the IFSC Master Level international calendar. The Climbing Boulder, presented by Block’Out Montpellier, will give initiation opportunities to everyone. With the promise of an amazing spectacle, it will showcase a sport which has seen a surge of popularity in recent years: an increasing number of climbers; the opening of many more climbing areas; the professionalization of the IFSC World Cup, followed by thousands of spectators and broadcast live on YouTube; and the blessing of the IOC for its inclusion in the 2020 Olympic Games program.  A truly urban, visual show, climbing offers a new “vertical” dimension to FISE and its participants.

FIG : Federation Internationale de Gymnastique

Obstacle Course Sprint and Obstacle Course Freestyle

For the competitions and planned onsite initiations, FIG is working in partnership with the Movement International of Parkour, Freerunning and Art of Displacement via its President Charles Perrière (FRA), together with APEX Movement (USA) and JUMP Freerun (NED). Two competitions inspired partly by Parkour and with Olympic ambitions will be on the program: Obstacle Course Sprint and Obstacle Course Freestyle. Obstacle Course Sprint is an against the clock format, while Obstacle Course Freestyle performances will be judged. The competitions will take place on the Street Park, where competitions for BMX Freestyle Street and Skateboarding will also be held.
