Williams Racing, a UK-based team competing in motor racing’s prestigious Formula 1 (F1), have brought in Duracell, the battery brand, as a sponsor in a multi-year deal.

The Duracell logo, from the start of the 2022 F1 season in Bahrain next month (March 18-20), will “feature prominently on both race cars throughout the season, as well as on our team kit and the race suits of [drivers] Alex Albon and Nicholas Latifi”, Williams has said.

The brand will also be present at Williams’ 2022 car launch tomorrow (February 15) and will collaborate with the team for on-ground activations – with the first one of those coming at the first edition of the Miami Grand Prix in May.

Jost Capito, team principal and chief executive of Williams Racing, said: “I am so proud of this partnership between Williams and Duracell, and I am grateful for the trust and confidence they have put in us. Having their name on the side of our car is a personal highlight for me.”

Other Williams commercial partners include brands such as Umbro, Lavazza, Pirelli, Acronis and Zeiss.

Williams finished eighth out of 10 teams in last season’s F1 Constructors Championship.

The deal will see Alpine’s livery – blue last season – incorporate BWT’s pink shades.
