L’Equipe, the French digital sports broadcaster, has picked up domestic rights to show Belgian soccer’s top-tier Pro League this season.
The channel will provide free-to-air coverage of the league, as well as the Belgian Cup, the domestic knockout cups competition, and the Super Cup match between the winners of the First Division A league and the cup.
L’Equipe’s first broadcast will be this Sunday’s high-profile clash between Anderlecht and Club Brugge.
The broadcaster has been stepping up its soccer efforts in recent months and last month secured rights to show the latter stages of the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, the South American soccer’s clubs competitions.
Earlier in the summer, it landed rights to the Copa America, South America’s national teams tournament.
