The world’s most spectacular taekwondo display team will be jetting into Manchester this month to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2007 World Taekwondo Qualification Event for the Beijing Olympic Games, which will be staged at Manchester’s MEN Arena from 28th to 30th September.

The Korean Tigers are recognised as the world’s premier teakwondo display team, with a repertoire packed full of breathtaking moves of speed, skill and agility. Since their inception in 1990, The K-Tigers have performed at a host of opening ceremonies, as well as to packed audiences at special events around the world.

With a reputation for creativity, The K-Tigers have broken the boundaries of traditional taekwondo and established a series of ground breaking routines which have taken the sport of to a new level and audiences, having proved the inspiration behind Taekwon-robics, Taekwon-dance, and Extreme Taekwondo.

All the members of The K-Tigers are vastly experienced athletes having been performing taekwondo since their early childhood, with many of the team having over 20 year’s experience. Designed to capture the beauty, speed, power and agility of taekwondo, the routines are all choreographed to music.

Tickets for the opening ceremony of World Taekwondo Qualification Event for the Beijing Olympic Games, which takes place on Friday 28th, are still available from the event website http://www.manchester2007.info/, and will be followed by finals from the opening day’s action.

With over 300 athletes from more than 90 countries taking part, the event is the largest taekwondo tournament ever staged in Britain and will see the top three athletes in each weight category qualify for next summer’s Olympics.

Flying the flag for Britain are Tony Grisman (Kang Han Taekwondo Club, Mansfield), Aaron Cook (Scorpion Taekwondo Club, Doncaster), Louise Mair (Focus Martial Arts, Elgin) and three time European Champion Sarah Stevenson (All Stars Taekwondo Club, Doncaster).
