London ¡V February 27, 2003: British Speedway and Go Speed Limited, who exercise the commercial rights to British Speedway, today announced that, in partnership with technology company DatAcq Limited and online gaming specialists Etote, they are planning to introduce the world¡¦s first Virtual Television Broadcasting Technology, featuring Sky Sports Elite League and Premier League Speedway fixtures in 2003. The offer will further allow viewers access to interactive betting on the coming Speedway season. It is planned that the unique technology, which has been developed by DatAcq, will initially see four speedway meetings per week broadcast in a real-time virtual television format via the Internet throughout the season.

It is hoped that the virtual television system will be in operation at 4 separate tracks during the 2003.

Users, who will log onto the system via www.british-speedway.co.uk, or www.speedwaybet.com, will be able to view all of the action from each race meeting in real-time virtual television. The user experience will be graphically akin to viewing a high-level computer game. Each heat will further have an online betting function, provided by Etote.

Terry Russell, Managing Director of Go Speed says;
‘We are absolutely thrilled that British Speedway, in partnership with DatAcq and Etote is able to make this ground-breaking move. British Speedway will be the first sport anywhere in the world to have this technology available. We are sure that those who follow the sport and those who love a wager will make this a fantastic success.’

Gideon Lloyd, Founder of DatAcq adds;
‘This is a world first, and we are very pleased that we have been able to reach agreement with Go Speed and British Speedway to roll out the service in a live sporting environment. Real time tracking of individual targets has been something of a ¡¥holy grail¡¦. We are very proud that a British company has beaten serious competition to achieve commercial reality. This is a very exciting development for Speedway and also for sport as a whole, as there are many more applications that will follow on from here.’

Edwin Osborne, Managing Director of Etote continues;
‘Though Speedway has no historic association as a betting medium, we are extremely confident that this is something that will very much appeal to punters.

We believe that, as this is a ¡¥pool¡¦ based offering, it is in the best interests of the sport as a whole and will also lead to some big payouts. Large jackpots are always very popular with punters. We will begin with a purely Internet based offer but we will follow-up with a telephone service. We would also look to roll-out the service onto other platforms in due time.’

Chris van Straaten, Chairman of the British Speedway Promoters Association adds;
‘This is a very important year for our sport, as this is our 75th anniversary season. We are extremely delighted to be able to demonstrate that we are a sport with a bright future ahead as well as an historic past. We are proud to be able to lead the sporting world with the implementation of this unique technology.’

Users will be able to access the service via any Internet enabled pc format; the service does not require a broadband connection. The vTV„· application can either be downloaded from the Internet or installed from a CD.

Pool betting will be offered on all British Speedway throughout the season and at each meeting punters will be able to bet a race trio (first, second and third) and four-race selector, and a carry-over match jackpot.
