Ecclestone Acquires Formula 1 Magazine
Formula One Management announced today the launch of its new Formula One Publications operation which, today, has acquired from publisher European Press the monthly magazine title ‘Formula 1 Magazine’ and its associated hardback ‘Formula 1 Annual’ title.
An early priority for Formula One Publications will be the appointment of a new Editor, a position now vacant following the announcement by the magazine’s founding Editor, Mr Tom Rubython that he was leaving.
In the coming months, Formula One Publishing will develop and build the Formula 1 Magazine title as the official FORMULA ONET publication. Its strategy will be to build on
and grow the title’s strong subscriber base in the UK and to broaden distribution overseas.
Non-English language versions of the title are planned. An on-line dimension will also be added through the redevelopment of the Formula1.com website which will become the official FORMULA ONET website when it is relaunched next year.
Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of Formula One Management Limited said: ‘Formula 1 Magazine has established itself already as a strong title and Tom Rubython has done a super job in establishing it. I am sorry that he has moved on and wish him the best. We are pleased to have brought ‘Formula 1 Magazine’ into the Formula One Group and we’re excited about its future. We will build on the firm foundations Tom has laid to make ‘Formula 1 Magazine’ an even greater success throughout the World.’
