Marco Maddaloni has been promoted to director of marketing, it was announced by Willy Burkhardt, executive vice president, ESPN Enterprises and ESPN International.

Maddaloni will continue to be based in ESPN International’s offices in New York City and will report directly to Alessandra Durstine, vice president of marketing, ESPN International. Maddaloni had been manager of marketing.

Maddaloni will be responsible for the development and execution of consumer and affiliate marketing campaigns for ESPN International throughout the world, with special emphasis on Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa and Australia. He will also direct the marketing efforts for ESPN Israel.

‘Marco’s creativity and resourcefulness have been vital to ESPN International’s marketing efforts in Latin America and Israel,’ said Burkhardt. ‘His marketing savvy and experience will be an asset to ESPN as we continue to raise brand awareness worldwide.’

Maddaloni joined ESPN International as marketing manager in November 1996. In this role, he developed and implemented affiliate, ad sales, and consumer marketing plans. He was also instrumental in managing the marketing campaign for the successful launch of ESPN Israel in June of 2000.

Prior to joining ESPN International, Maddaloni served as the Latin American marketing manager for USA Network in 1996. Before that, he served as the assistant manager of marketing and publicity for Fox Latin American Channel and Fox Broadcasting Company from 1992 to 1996.

Maddaloni graduated from Pace University with a B.A. in International Business. He will receive his M.B.A. in Marketing Management from Pace University in December 2001. Maddaloni is a Brazilian national and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and has knowledge of Hebrew.
