ESPN to Televise Super Bowl in 140 Countries and Territories

ESPN will provide live coverage of Super Bowl XXXVII from San Diego, California on Sunday, January 26 at 6 p.m. ET to more than 140 countries and territories throughout the world, it was announced today by Russell Wolff, managing director, ESPN International.

ESPN, which has worldwide cable and satellite exclusivity for the Super Bowl, will televise the event throughout Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Rim. Commentary and analysis will be provided in six languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hindi.

Super Bowl XXXVII will feature a battle of contrasting styles as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFL’s top-ranked defense will try to stop the Oakland Raiders and the NFL’s leading offense. This will be the first ever Super Bowl appearance for Tampa Bay, while Oakland has been there four times previously, walking away as champions three times.

ESPN will provide a multitude of support programming leading up to Super Bowl XXXVII including Road to the Super Bowl, NFL Films Presents, NFL Blast, NFL’s Lost Treasures, NFL’s Greatest Games, Sunday NFL Countdown, and highlights of all 36 previous Super Bowl games.
