Events New South Wales – CEO Appointment

Premier Morris lemma this week announced Mr Geoff Parmenter as the Chief Executive Officer of Events New South Wales.

Mr Iemma said Mr Parmenter has had an extensive career in the international events industry, including high level experience in the bidding for and staging major events. 

“Geoff comes to Events New South Wales from the Football Federation Australia where is has been the Head of Marketing, Communications and Strategy,” Mr Iemma said.

“Mr Parmenter has also worked at SOCOG and held executive roles at the Australian Rugby Union.

“He is just the person we need to head up this exciting new company.

“I was very encouraged by this week’s first board meeting and I have given the board a very clear mandate to make things happen for Sydney and regional NSW.”

The Premier was advised of Mr Parmenter’s appointment by John O’Neill, AO, the Chairman of Events New South Wales.

“Geoff’s passion for the events industry and his capacity to build and implement innovative strategies will ensure Sydney retains its position as a leading global events destination,” Mr O’Neill said.

Mr Parmenter takes up his new role in early 2008.
