The agreement between Everton Football Club and Fox Sports International was agreed to coincide with the start of the 2006/07 English Premiership season.
The weekly three hour programme is produced by Everton in partnership with the ADI Group, a Preston-based TV company, and is then distributed to territories worldwide excluding the U.K.
Presented by experienced broadcaster Elton Welsby, each programme includes the full 90 minutes of that weekend’s Everton first-team match as well as extended highlights from the club’s other games during the week.
Everton’s Head of Communications Mark Rowan commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be associated with such a renowned television brand as Fox Sports, whose expertise and reputation in this field is beyond compare.
“This new agreement gives Everton the opportunity to communicate with all of its global fanbase and the feedback already has been extremely positive.”
Fox Sports Director of Programme Sales Marcia Bylicki added: “Everton are an established Premier League club with a great history and tradition, so we are very proud that we will work together on expanding Everton’s brand globally and also being able to provide new content that is more innovative than traditional programming blocks.”
In addition, the programme, which is branded as EvertonTV, incorporates a string of interviews with Everton’s Premiership stars and David Moyes, the manager who has guided the Merseyside club to the top half of the Premiership table in the early weeks of the new campaign.
The expertise of Fox Sports is crucial in ensuring the successful distribution of the block programme throughout the world as the Blues seek to satisfy the hunger for Premiership football.
