Buenos Aires, October 3, 2000 – FOX Sports Latin America, the most widely distributed Spanish-language pay television sports network in the world, announces the agreement to sponsor the futbol club Atlético Huracán from Argentina.

The agreement will allow the placement of the FOX Sports logo and slogan on the front and back of all jerseys for the first and third division clubs. These jerseys will be used in all of the matches in the Torneo Apertura and Clausura 2000-2001. FOX Sports’ slogan ‘Ponemos Todo’ and their new logo design can already be seen on the Huracán jerseys.

This marks the first time that a sponsor of a futbol club dedicates part of its marketing and promotions efforts to broaden the image of a sports club. FOX Sports’ sponsorship extends further than the logo placement on each player’s jersey.

‘We’ve established a marketing plan that benefits both parties. FOX Sports has committed to promote club Atlético Huracán while solidifying its position as leader in the Argentine market and the rest of Latin America’, said Raúl de Quesada, Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Marketing and Communications of FOX Sports Latin America.

Ricardo Ciccarelli, Vice President and head of marketing of the Club Atlético Huracán, said: ‘The popular slogan ‘Ponemos Todo’ that FOX Sports has made prevalent throughout Latin America, more than fits the reality of our futbol club; players; team; coaches; managers and fans. We can really identify with this concept that encompasses our passionate spirit and dedication. We’re an institution with over 90 years of experience and there’s no doubt that we’ve overcome several obstacles and always characterize ourselves to give all we can give on the field.’

Four new designs will be incorporated on the front and back of Huracán’s jerseys, the logo and slogan of FOX Sports on both sides.

As part of FOX Sports Latin America’s commitment to promote the team, the network will premiere ‘La Historia de Huracán’ on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 p.m. in an exclusive production which portrays all of the futbol club’s best moments from its inception. This program will be transmitted to more than 10 million households throughout Latin America.

The first stage in the marketing strategy is an outdoor campaign – which has already been seen in Argentina after the victory it achieved against its historical rival San Lorenzo -, followed by promotional spots that will air on the network and print ads.
