Gearhouse Australia has won the contract to supply production facilities for ARD/ZDF, Germany’s national broadcaster for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
One of Australia’s leading broadcast equipment providers has won the contract to supply production facilities for a major German broadcaster at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Gearhouse Australia will supply turnkey operational facilities at the Olympics to ARD/ZDF, Germany’s national broadcaster.
The General Manager of Gearhouse Broadcast, Stephen Chadwick, said that he was delighted Gearhouse would be supporting one of the world’s leading broadcasters.
‘Each day the Gearhouse facilities will produce more than 30 hours of programs that will be screened in Germany through two free-to-air stations and one paid service,’ he said.
Gearhouse Broadcast, the division that provides digital broadcast technology to the television and film industries, will design, install, engineer and maintain the facilities.
Gearhouse will also build the sets for three studios and supply the latest technology plasma screens used in the sets.
This latest win means Gearhouse Australia now holds contracts for the Sydney Olympics valued at more than
$10 million.
Other Olympics contracts won by Gearhouse include:
– Digital broadcast facilities for the Archery competition.
– Location facilities and engineering expertise for coverage of the bicycle road races by major American broadcaster, NBC.
– Local support during the Olympics to leading equipment suppliers Philips and EVS.
