Germany Wins the WMF World Adventure Golf Masters in Hastings

German team victorious in the WMF World Adventure Golf Masters for the third time.

The WMF World Adventure Golf Masters minigolf tournament was played on the 18-hole Pirate Adventure Golf Course in Hastings, England on the 15th and 16th June. A total of seven teams and 37 players representing Finland, Germany, Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and Sweden competed in the World Minigolf Sport Federation event.

In the team competition Germany won the WMF World Adventure Golf Masters title for the third-year in a row. The holders secured the 2013 title with a surge in the final rounds to overcome Great Britain and Sweden. The German team finished 145-shots under par, ahead of GB1 on 134-under par and Sweden on 126-under par.

In the individual event Gerrit Below of Germany won the title with a seven-round total of 204(-48), four shots ahead of team mate and former champion Martin Stöckle. Michael Smith (GBR) was third.

The World Minigolf Sport Federation would like to thank the organisers at the British Minigolf Association and Hastings Adventure Golf for their efforts to make this another brilliant event. It was also great to have a high class team from Sweden to compete for the first time in what was a very exciting team competition. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to Gerrit Below for a fantastic performance in very difficult weather conditions. ”

Other winners at the 2013 WMF World Adventure Golf Masters event were Adam Kelly (GBR) who won the junior world title, Emily Gottfried (GBR) who won the women’s world title, Sean Homer who won the seniors world title and Gerrit Below (GER) who won the men’s world title.
