The Department of Culture, Media and Sport has appointed Robert Hughes for a second term as Chairman of the Horserace Betting Levy Board.
The renewal appointment, which begins tomorrow – Saturday,
September 1 – is for a further three-year term until August 31, 2004.
Hughes became Chairman of the Horserace Betting Levy Board on September 1, 1998, following a distinguished career in local government.
He was appointed CBE in the 1999 New Year Honours for services to local government and the community in Kirklees.
