Infostrada Sports is celebrating its 10th anniversary as one of the world’s leading sports information providers by taking a majority shareholding in Hayters Teamwork, the UK’s leading independent sportswriting agency for more than 50 years.

Dutch company Infostrada Sports supplies sports content and provides data and media services to a variety of large media clients and at major events such as the Olympic Games. It is currently preparing to run the media services for the Asian Games in Qatar next month.

Hayters is one of the UK’s most prestigious sports agencies, with 20 full-time staff in London and the English regions, plus dozens of freelancers around the UK and overseas. More than 100 leading sportswriters and many top broadcasters started their careers at Hayters, which has been supplying UK and international newspapers, magazines and publishers with sports news, features and statistics since 1955.

In recent years Hayters has expanded into websites and mobile platforms, as official content providers for theFA.com, UEFA.com and Joe Cole.com. Hayters Broadcasting also supplies material for Sky Sports News, BBC, ITN, CNN and many other TV outlets around the world.

Hayters will add to Infostrada’s services a daily sports news feed, covering football, rugby, cricket, athletics and all major sports, in all forms of media – written, audio and visual. In return for access to Infostrada’s state-of-the-art information systems, Hayters will be able to add its unique archive of sports news and results going back more than 50 years.

Philip Hennemann, CEO of Infostrada Sports: “Our products and services will be easier to supply to clients in Great Britain with this takeover. Access to Hayters-Teamwork’s clients as well as the additional value we can gain from their multi-media content should ease this process.”

Gerry Cox, Hayters Teamwork’s Chief Executive: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Hayters to move forward in the sports information arena and take our expertise on to a global platform. Hayters has long been regarded as one of the most reputable and well connected media services in the UK, and this deal will allow us to expand and service new markets and territories.”

“The sports content industry is very segmented and clearly consolidation is the best way forward. The strategy of international growth that Infostrada have identified makes an ideal fit with our business, and we both share the principles of in-depth knowledge, quality and dedication to sport.”
