Manchester Storm have announced that Kurt Kleinendorst will be vacating his position as Head Coach/General Manager of the Storm. Kleinendorst, who leaves Britain for North America after Easter, said. “I would like to express my sincere thanks to both Roy Mlakar (NHL Ottawa Senators CEO) who gave me this tremendous opportunity and David Davies (Director of European Operations – Ogden Entertainments) who has not only been a great boss, but also a valued friend. My three years in Manchester have been a valuable hockey opportunity for me, and also a great experience for my family. We all have fond memories that we will cherish for many years to come. In addition I would also like to thank all the backroom staff at the club and, of course, the supporters without whom none of it would have been possible. Finally, I wish David Davies and everyone associated with the Storm continued success. It has been a great three years.” Commenting upon Kurt’s decision, David Davies expressed both his personal and Ogden’s gratitude. “Kurt advanced the club another stage in its development. His attention to detail, both on and off ice, engendered a degree of pride and professionalism that we will take forward to further establish Manchester Storm as being the flagship for British ice hockey. Naturally we wish Kurt and his family success for the future.” The search is now on to find the person who will take the Storm to the next level. The prospective candidate for the job will inherit a roster of five contracted players, including NHL Stanley Cup winning netminder, Frank Pietrangelo; Kris Miller, Blair Scott, Rob Robinson and Pierre Allard.
