Food delivery service DoorDash has continued its recent spate of sports sponsorships by striking a deal with the organizers of tennis' Australian Open major tournament.

Through a multi-year tie-up unveiled earlier today, the firm becomes the tournament's official on-demand delivery partner.

Fans at the Australian Open will, throughout the length of this deal, be able to have food delivered from a range of on-site vendors to their seat, through DoorDash technology.

This marks a first for the hard-court tournament, which next year will take place between January 11 and 31 at its traditional Melbourne home.

In addition, the brand will act as the presenting partner of the 'AO on the GO' tournament convenience platform, with activations and branding planned for that part of the agreement.

Finally, DoorDash will also take over the Golden Hour Bar at the Grand Slam Oval, the centrepiece of Melbourne Park where the event will take place.

Its branding will also appear through both on-court virtual signage and on concourse screens.

The event will be under new leadership after Craig Tiley, the long-standing chief executive of Tennis Australia and tournament director of the Australian Open, was officially announced as the new CEO of the United States Tennis Association, organizer of the US Open, in February. Tiley led Tennis Australia for 13 years.

DoorDash, meanwhile, unveiled an agreement with North American ice hockey's top-tier NHL in mid-September.

It also has deals with both the World Wrestling Entertainment and Ultimate Fighting Championship promotions, while earlier this year, it acted as a partner of soccer's 2026 FIFA World Cup, held across Mexico, the US, and Canada.

A multi-year partnership with Major League Soccer in the US already forms part of its portfolio.
